The LATAMPR 2026 Convention, held in Santiago de Chile, was much more than a biannual gathering. It was a strategic working space where the group came together to align, challenge, and project the future of communication in the region.
Over four days, directors from Chile–Peru, Argentina, Brazil–UK, Spain, Guatemala, Panama–Venezuela, and Ecuador took part in an intensive agenda designed to combine reflection, applied learning, and decision-making. (Not all directors were able to attend due to prior commitments.)
The focus was clear from the outset: to strengthen regional articulation and continue raising the standard of communication across Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula.
An agenda connecting internal work with external engagement
The convention brought together key voices from the ecosystem:
- Roundtable with students and professors from the Communication and Advertising program at Universidad de los Andes, addressing current challenges in professional education and evolving industry demands.
- Artificial Intelligence workshop led by Felipe Reyes, focused on practical applications such as process automation, data analysis, and content strategy optimization.
- Visit to Google Chile and session with Connie Niebuhr, exploring the relationship between technology platforms and the news industry in the region.
- Talk with Gabriela Arteaga, who shared insights on the evolving role of journalism and the importance of credibility in times of transformation.
These instances expanded the conversation beyond the group, integrating diverse and forward-looking perspectives on the present and future of communication.
- The core value: internal work and collective building
While the external agenda was highly valuable, the core of the convention lay in the internal working sessions.
Across more than 20 hours of discussions, participants advanced in formalizing agreements, defining governance structures, and consolidating a shared vision.
This work not only strengthens LATAMPR’s operational model, but also lays the foundation for a more scalable and competitive structure to meet regional and global client demands.
- LATAMPR: an evolving group
LATAMPR moves forward, driven by collaboration, a shared vision, and a long-term commitment to elevating communication across the region.
