Eckoing Communication, a member of the international network of independent communication agencies LATAM PR, coordinated the organization of the International Congress of GEM (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor) on its 25th anniversary and for the first time in Spain. GEM is a private entity that analyzes entrepreneurship in every country and region worldwide, with its annual reports being particularly valued.
More than 400 people from 52 countries, representing GEM members from each nation, along with prominent representatives from the entrepreneurship sector—from institutions to everyday entrepreneurs—participated in the three days of intensive sessions, debates, and conferences. During the event, the annual Global Entrepreneurship Report was presented, along with two other significant reports: the State of Women’s Entrepreneurship and, last but not least, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability.
The congress, which also marked its 25th anniversary, was primarily held at the Bizkaia Aretoa in the capital of Biscay, with additional events taking place at the B Accelerator Tower (BAT). The event also featured a gala dinner where the GEM Global Awards were presented at the renowned Guggenheim Museum.
The GEM Global 2025 Conference was organized by EEB-OVE, the Basque Observatory of Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with GEM Global and GEM Spain. It was supported by the main local institutions, including the Bilbao City Council, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, and the Basque Government (through SPRI). Additionally, the event received support from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism (ENISA) and Basque universities, including the University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, the University of Deusto, and Mondragon University.
